Wonder Tinker · Concord West, Sydney
A creative making studio for curious kids
Kids learn through hands-on projects that bring together art, design and playful technology.
About the studio
Kids build their creative confidence through making.
Every project blends art, design thinking and technology.
Kids tackle real design challenges that spark their curiosity, and learn how designers and engineers solve problems with style.
We believe that where all three overlap, kids make things none of them could make alone.
- Led by designers
- Real challenges, real tools
- A calm, supportive studio
- We value the process, not just the finished piece
- Small groups with more 1:1 support
- Art: colour, texture, stories.
- Design: plan, test, improve.
- Technology: Tinkercad, 3D printing.
- Art and design together: imagine and shape.
- Design and technology together: plan and prototype.
- Art and technology together: make and express.
- Where all three overlap: Wonder Tinker, the studio.
This term
Tiny Planet Makers
A design, 3D printing and storytelling course for kids in Years 1–6: four Monday classes, or three longer Saturday classes
Inspired by The Little Prince, children imagine a tiny world and the character who lives there, then design, print and build it.
“If your planet were wonderfully, ridiculously tiny, what would it look like?”
What they'll make
-
Week 1 · Mon 16 Nov
Imagine and start modelling
Brainstorm a character and planet, then start modelling in Tinkercad, a free 3D app.
-
Week 2 · Mon 23 Nov
Print and improve
Learn how 3D printing works, see finished models printed and improve them.
-
Week 3 · Mon 30 Nov
Pop-up planet
Learn how pop-up mechanisms work, then build the planet in paper and cardboard.
-
Week 4 · Mon 7 Dec
Glow and decorate
Discover glow-in-the-dark materials and decorate the planet.
The Saturday class covers the same course across three longer 2-hour sessions: Sat 14, 21 and 28 Nov.
They take home
- Their tiny planet
- Two 3D prints of their own design, ready to collect at the last class
Along the way they
- Practise sketching, prototyping, testing and improving
- Learn to trust their own ideas
Tiny Planet Makers is our first chapter. Weekly classes follow in Term 1 2027. See what a year of making is designed to build

Questions parents ask
When do we get the 3D prints?
Children collect their prints at the last class: Saturday 28 November for the Saturday class, Monday 7 December for the Monday class.
Year 1 and Year 6 in the same class: does that work?
Yes. Everyone works on their own planet, and we adjust the challenge to each child: younger makers get more guidance, older ones get extra challenges.
Who looks after the children?
Ha Le and Vivi teach every class together, with no more than 8 children. Both hold Working With Children Checks.
Does my child need their own iPad?
No, but it helps. If you have one, install the free Tinkercad app before the first class so they can keep designing at home. If not, they'll use one of our studio iPads in class.
What if my child misses a week?
We can't offer make-up classes this term because of the holiday season. We'll help them catch up in the next class so their planet still comes together by the last class.
What if we need to cancel?
If you can't come after booking, we don't offer refunds or credits. If we have to cancel, you get a refund. See the studio terms.
Will you take photos?
Only with your permission, which you choose on the booking form. We share hands and projects, never full faces or names without consent.

What a year of making is designed to build
Weekly classes start in Term 1 2027, planned so each term builds on the last. Over a year, we hope children gain:
- A habit of improving: sketching, testing and trying again, rather than stopping at the first try
- Confidence to share: showing an idea, hearing feedback and having another go
- Surer hands and a bolder imagination for drawing, folding, building and storytelling
- Comfort with real technology: 3D modelling and printing, simple circuits and cardboard engineering, using screens to make rather than scroll
- A collection of finished projects they designed, made and can proudly explain
